What is Skills Pledge Plus?
Strengthening your workforce by investing in your staff and volunteers will equip you with the skills needed to survive in these current tough economic conditions.
Making the Skills Pledge is a public demonstration to all your staff, volunteers, customers and suppliers that you are committed to the continuous development and support of your paid and unpaid workforce, in particular by helping them develop their basic skills including numeracy and literacy, and helping them work towards relevant Level 2 qualifications.
But that’s not all;
Making the Skills Pledge through the VOLA Skills Pledge Plus contract will unlock an additional training bursary of £1,000 to be spent on other training that would not be funded by other mainstream funding.
Who is Eligible?
Any organisation can commit to the Skills Pledge, but not everyone can benefit from the £1000 Skills Pledge Plus training bursary.
To access the £1,000 organisations must be;
- Voluntary & Community / CIC / Charity organisations
- Based in Merseyside (Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral)
- Up to stage 4 of the Skills Pledge process
Learners benefitting from the £1,000 must be;

The training must be;
- Listed in the training plan
- Not eligible through other mainstream funding (eg Train to Gain)
- Not be a statutory or mandatory requirement of the learner’s job role
